Wilderness Presidential Resort

Everybody stays in one place: a 600-acre camping resort west of Fredericksburg, about an hour south of Washington, DC. Lodging runs from lakeside camp cabins and log cabins to RV and tent sites, and most of what there is to do on the grounds — the two lakes, the pools, the ropes course, mini golf, archery — comes with the stay.

GETTING THERE

The resort is roughly 60 miles south of Washington, DC, just off Plank Road. Flying in, Reagan National (DCA), Dulles (IAD), and BWI all work — plan on driving the last stretch, as there is no transit to the gate.
